Alimentação saudável e o Surf

Uma alimentação adequada tem ação direta sobre a nossa saúde, reduzindo as possibilidades de doenças que possam prejudicar o desempenho na prática deste esporte, favorecendo uma vida longa na prática do surf, seja amador, recreacional ou profissional.

Uma alimentação equilibrada e planejada para os treinos e competições pode melhorar o desempenho nas ondas, reduzir a fadiga, permitir um maior número de horas de surf por treino, facilitar uma recuperação muscular mais acelerada, reduzir as chances de lesão, além de ajudar na manutenção do peso ideal.

O alimento é a principal fonte de energia para o homem, quanto mais natural for a sua alimentação, mas saudável será. Dê preferência a alimentos integrais, não transgênicos, livre de agrotóxicos e de aditivos químicos. Inclua verduras, legumes e frutas diariamente na sua alimentação, pois são fontes de vitaminas, minerais e fibras. Reduza o consumo de gordura animal (saturada), dando preferência ao consumo de carnes brancas. Use com moderação açúcar e sal. Não se esqueça de incluir leite e derivados no seu cardápio, afinal eles são fontes de cálcio e auxiliam no desenvolvimento ósseo.

Quanto mais ativo for o esporte, maior será a necessidade de energia. O gasto de energia por hora de surf fica em torno de 350 a 400 calorias. Para repor a energia consumida, recomenda-se de 6 a 7 refeições por dia, com intervalo de 3 horas entre elas.

Lembre-se que além da qualidade dos alimentos, também é importante controlar a quantidade, para evitar ganho de peso.

A ingestão de líquidos, principalmente de água, deve ser generosa para garantir uma boa hidratação. Uma leve desidratação pode reduzir sua performance. Dica: Use a abuse da água de côco.

Uma viagem ao mundo Islã

Pode soar estranho para alguns mas Marrocos tem altas ondas. Na foto acima o pico se chama The Boilers, um dos melhores picos da costa marroquina, longa e rápida direita de point break com sessão de tubo e muitas manobras. Na maioria das vezes o swell entra certo com o vento de sul beirando as pedras deixando o mar épico. Com variedade em comida e uma temperatura média de 16/18 graus tu terá muitas opções de ondas no Marrocos. Mas e o preço? Pois é, do Brasil vale a pena economizar desde já pois a viagem sai caro. É necessário pegar um vôo de São Paulo a qualquer grande capital da Europa, e de lá pegar um avião até Agadir ou Marrakech de aproximadamente 4 horas, e no preço de £120 (euros) em média, ou menos, ida e volta. Tem ônibus pra translado aeroporto hotel e vice-versa, por £8. Alguns hotéis oferecem escola de surf para iniciantes.

Magna Plasm

There's an awful lot going on in MagnaPlasm both visually and aurally, a lot of experimentation with film formats, water and land angles, flashy editing, odd but perfect music and even claymation. Troy Eckert and Richard Woolcott put a tremendous amount of work into their videos, which is why they produce one every five years or so, but its also why they are one of the best things going in the surf video world. The core of MagnaPlasm is good surfing (most of its good, anyway), in all kinds of surf, from junk Newport to barreling Baja to the familiar North Shore to the mysterious outer islands. Bruce Irons is the lead man here, a natural surfing talent whose style reflects the natural beauty of his home state of Kauai.

Depois de ficar em vice no La Santa Pro, Ilhas Canárias, etapa 6 estrelas, Bernardo Pigmeu subiu para o 22º lugar e ainda respira fundo para o WCT. Jadson André, atual 3º, ja está classificado e Marco Polo, William Cardoso e Leo Neves, 18º, 23º e 24º respectivamente, correm por fora e tentam uma vaga para a primeira divisão no próximo ano. Já no wct, Mineirinho ja está garantido e Heitor Alves, que está em 27º, ainda tem boas chances de continuar na elite, basta um resultado razoável em Pipe ou tropeços de quem vem abaixo no ranking. Hot Buttered Soul: The Movie

Hot Buttered Soul: The Movie draws on a deep well of surf cinema heritage to present the surfing of the HB extended family. Choice selections from HB's "Sultans of Speed" series, along with surf flick classics Morning of the Earth, A Winter's Tale, Fantasea, Storm Riders and more, are expertly intercut by editor Mick Waters, with interviews and commentary from Andrew Kidman and Derek Hynd.

Wherever they went, "Sultans" trips always had the knack of scoring amazing waves.

Viewers will be stunned by the NSW north coast sessions of '88, when in an outrageous 10 day binge, Poto, Simon Law, Cattle and Deaney surfed all the classic pointbreaks at their maximum size and shape.

They'll also freak at Joel's hair-raising couple of bombs at a terrifying Irish reefbreak, and wallow in the pleasure of perfect Periscope Point on Sumbawa, Indonesia, before the surf camps arrived. Then the movie swings to a down home sequence that sees Terry, Kye and Joel head back to Jeffreys Bay on a family trip with some timeless TF equipment, including Driftas and wing pin single fins, and ride 'em into the ground at J-Bay and the rarely glimpsed Cape St Francis.

Yet underlying at all is the still-astonishingly fresh lines and torquing style of TF in the 1970s, blowing away the world at Jeffreys, Rocky Point, Uluwatu and various lesser known locations. It's a sublime treat watching today's power surfing at its moment of invention.

The unique soundtrack, featuring ex Tamam Shud guitarist Tim Gaze in front of a six piece band, was written, practiced, and finally recorded as a single 59-minute free-flowing piece, in sync with the movie's final cut. It's an inspired enhancement to inspired footage.
