O potiguar Jadson André sagrou-se campeão do Billabong Pro Santa Catarina, etapa do World Tour finalizada na quinta-feira 29 de abril, em ondas de meio a 1 metro e formação regular na praia da Vila, Imbituba (SC). Na decisão, Jadson totalizou 14.40 pontos para vencer o nove vezes campeão mundial Kelly Slater. É a primeira vitória de Jadson no circuito e a primeira vez que um estreante brasileiro vence uma etapa logo em seu primeiro ano na elite. Jadson quebra ainda um jejum de 12 anos sem vitórias brasileiras na etapa verde-amarela do Tour. A última havia sido em 1998, com Peterson Rosa, na Barra da Tijuca (RJ).

Sipping Jetstreams não é um livro, um filme ou um artigo de revista, é um movimento.
Alguns anos atrás, cansados de verem documentários de surf sempre nos mesmos e repetidos lugares, o fotografo Dustin Humphrey e o filmmaker Taylor Steele tiveram uma visão. Embora eles tivessem gastado a maioria de suas vidas dentro de aviões, aeroportos, hotéis, carros alugados, barcos, será que eles realmente tinham conhecido o mundo? Hawaii, Austrália e Tahiti tinham sido completamente devorados por eles, mas e a Itália? Egito? Yemem? Kenya? Sri Lanka? Índia? Canadá? Rússia? Cuba? Eles perceberam que o surfe tinha se proliferado desde o clássico filme de Bruce Brown "Endless Summer", porém o surfistas estavam crescendo acomodados e complacentes. Tornou-se claro para os dois que eles deviam seguir o conselho de Robert Frost e literalmente pegar as estradas menos viajadas.
Os dois dividindo suas idéias descobriram um no outro uma verdadeira conexão, e decidiram explorar aquelas partes do planeta tanto em termos de ondas como culturalmente. Eles recrutaram seus amigos, muitos coincidentemente ele são um dos maiores nomes do surf atualmente, para se juntar a odisséia dentro do desconhecido, e buscaram descobrir lugares nunca antes considerados na caebça dos surfistas.
A primeira viagem do filme foi para o Marrocos, seguido por Hong Kong, Itália, Indonésia, Egito, Japão, Cuba e Barbados. Eles retornaram inspirados com a exploração de novos lugares, com muitas ondas descobertas e histórias para contar. Dezenas de artigos das viagens foram para as revistas de surf de todo o mundo. Sipping Jetstreams, o DVD e o livro de capa dura foram lançados em Outubro de 2006, documentando as experiências vividas por eles. Taylor e Dustin fizeram todo o tour ao redor do mundo novamente, porém dessa vez para mostrar aos surfistas o que eles tinham descobertos, o resultado ficou alem do esperado.

Terminou nesta sexta-feira a segunda etapa do Dream Tour 2010 e quem levou a melhor foi Kelly Slater. As finais foram realizadas em Johanna Beach e o ET americano venceu o atual campeão mundial, o australiano Mick Fanning, na bateria mais importante da prova e faturou US$ 50.000 além de 10.000 pontos no ranking.
Adriano de Souza foi o brasileiro melhor colocado na competição. Mineirinho foi até as quartas de final, quando perdeu para o australiano Taj Burrow, e finalizou a competição em quinto lugar. Jadson André também chegou ao último dia da prova, mas perdeu para o americano Bobby Martinez, nas oitavas e ficou em nono.
O Secret Machine surgiu há alguns meses com uma enorme campanha de marketing, que também tem uma campanha muito negativa onde coloca um dos cineastas Sonny Miller para protestar contra o filme. A campanha foi tão bem feita que havia muitos meios de acreditar neste protesto do Sonny. O cineasta queria que suas imagens não fossem utilizadas em um filme, que defendia o uso de máquinas para substituir as imagens de vídeo, e sim fossem tiradas diretamente da cabeça dos surfistas. O filme por fim foi lançado. No final, Sonny zomba do caso e que o filme foi um sucesso. As imagens são de grande qualidade, ondas incríveis, e algo diferente do usual filmes feitos por marcas de surf. A Indonésia é inevitável, mas os irmãos Hobgood, especialmente, estão surfando em ondas que raramente são vistos no filme, e tem a capacidade de ser empolgante. Taj Burrow, Nathan Webster, Yadin Nicol, Dion Agius, além de algumas contribuições de outros surfistas encontram um espaço musical muito rico e muito bem escolhido.
Clipton James HOBGOOD (C.J),30 anos, foi escolhido como o melhor Goffy Footer do Tour pela galera em votação onde o Norte Americano da Flórida obteve mais de 50% da preferência.

Matty Gye, Shaggs and Rick Jakovich are the brain and angles behind the international award winning films "3 Degrees" and "MonTAJ" who now call themselves "World Surf Images". Shot in virtual every corner of the earth and shinning an alternate light on the sport of surfing, the film shows how deverse every surfers life is, "A Day In The Life..." could be discribed as a tale of classic short stories.
"First Chapter" is the highly anticipated Dane Reynolds surf film. The 20 year-old from Ventura, widely acknowledged as the most exciting young surfer in the world, has dedicated over a year to film this project.It’s rare for a surfer of Dane’s caliber to dedicate an extended break from competition for filming, but the final result is well worth it.
"First Chapter" features some of most revolutionary surfing ever caught on film as Dane goes to places and spaces on waves and in the air that no one has ever seen. The loose, movie within a movie, structure of the project is also noteworthy as is its soundtrack filled with Dane’s favorite indie rock bands.
